When you are at work, you know it is better to approach a colleague who is relaxing and sipping a coffee rather than a frazzled colleague who is buried in a pile of paperwork.

Unfortunately you can’t tell whether your recipients are relaxed or frazzled when you are sending them email.

Well, now you can. A Georgia Tech Assistant Professor of Computing, Eric Gilbert, has developed software called courteous.ly, a service that shows current user email loads in real-time.
